Grand Opening: How to Get There

Updated: May 20

Please read the following for important information on where to park and options for getting to the grand opening event at Pathways Park! We want you there. We want you safe.

Many of you probably know that Seattle Children’s Hospital (SCH) has provided design feedback and support throughout the course of our project. They are stepping up once again to help make our opening celebration a success.

As a part of their commitment to reduce drive alone commuting, SCH owns and operates a fleet of shuttles they use to provide an employee shuttle service to transit connections and worksites.

We are so grateful they have generously agreed to donate the use of their employee shuttles and their parking lot at the Sand Point Learning Center just a mile up the road (5801 Sand Point Way NE). They will run shuttle services between the lot and the park from 12:30-4:30pm. *Please note the employee shuttles are not ADA accessible and do not have any medical equipment or staff onboard. (They do have friendly drivers and seatbelts!)

While we were able to add some accessible parking spaces as a part of the project, we were not able to increase the amount of parking. There are a small number of accessible parking spaces available onsite. Other parking will be extremely limited. There’s a small lot in front the restrooms and we’re asking community to consider saving those spaces for people who may not have accessible parking passes, but would benefit from parking close. If you’re bringing small children, elderly passengers, have an injury or find it difficult to travel long distances for any reason, please park in the lot. We want you to join us!

All the parking spaces behind the apartments are reserved for residents. Please be mindful of the community and their homes. They’ve already put up with over a year of construction!

The bus # 75 stops on Sand Point Way directly in front of the park.

Of course, walking or biking in from the Burke-Gilman trail are both great options too.

Thank you, Seattle Children’s Hospital for helping keep our community safe and happy! And thanks to all of you for coming out to celebrate with us.

We can’t wait to party together at Pathways Park (5201 Sand Point Way NE).

*If you're traveling from the south, be advised that the University of Washington commencement ceremony is also being held on June 8th, so you may want to avoid Montlake Boulevard and the surrounding area.
